My name is Oliver Brackenbury. I’m a screenwriter & author. I grew up around the corner from a five story deep cold war bunker, as one does, and can now be found living not far from a popular 1,815.4 ft tower in Toronto.
I’m an alumnus of the NSI Totally Television program, where I developed my rustic scifi series HEIRLOOM. I write hour-long dramas, mostly politically charged genre stories (scifi, horror, fantasy, crime), though I have a procedural spec up my sleeve.
Currently working on getting a few shows in development, and hunting for writers’ room gigs. Please email me if you’d like to see a writing sample.
My first novel, JUNKYARD LEOPARD, was released in 2015 through the Bad Day Books imprint of Assent Publishing. In 2016 it was deemed worthy of inclusion in the Merril Collection of Science Fiction, Speculation & Fantasy, which also holds and horror titles.
I am currently working on my third novel, in the sword & sorcery genre. You can join me on the journey of writing it, over on my podcast So I’m Writing a Novel…!
Between that and Unknown Worlds of the Merril Collection, a podcast I hosted until recently, I am an experienced interviewer who has had illuminating, entertaining conversations with guests like Kim Stanley Robinson, Gemma Files, and Cory Doctorow.
I have also influenced the culinary habits of a fictional, cartoon lemon man.
